ABOUT US

Stephanie and Paul

Stephanie and Paul Perfrement are the cofounders of Soul Resonance. They are members of the Earth Charter Initiative. This “living charter” is endorsed by thousands of organizations all around the world. Its aims are to unite people in respect and care for the whole community of life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice, real democracy, non-violence and peace.

PAUL

I’ve been developing an evolving sense of this Soul Resonance work with Stephanie now for nearly four years. In that time we’ve had ample opportunity to begin to really appreciate how uniquely experienced and applied it can be for different people and situations. Gradually, I have also deepened in my recognition that the loss of connection we have as humans with our deep nature is now at the point of being both a great opportunity for a better world and, paradoxically, a cleverly orchestrated epidemic and crisis. Soul Resonance is our contribution toward this potentially great turning point and time.

I am inspired and encouraged when I see the brave commitment of those individuals in this work who face their inner life, including their disowned shadow, to rekindle a deepening sense of who they really are. What strikes me as we retrieve our connection with our own soul is that until we really move through our own core issues in our upbringing we remain limited in being able to most powerfully contribute to a more compassionate future. Following our soul work all the way through, beyond immature soul positions of transference and being dominated by projections, is essential if we are to enter into a real embrace of the Paradisal Myth and new consciousness.

It would be too lengthy to summarise my personal background with any real fairness here. Usually a lot of time is given over in this section of a website to factual details about one’s achievements and involvements in the world. That’s not of much interest to me. I can say, though, that like most seekers on the path I have had so much to heal and to grow further into. There is always more I could learn. Even so, these days I am now genuinely comfortable in mentoring, leadership, eldering and visionary roles. Along the way, I have become humbly indebted to Stephanie for being such an insightful, real and loving partner in this work, and particularly for being my beloved wife and soul companion. My recovery of my own soul nature and spirit has had much to do with her and for that I am so grateful.

Due to my interest in supporting those in transformational crises I served as the coordinator of the Australian Spiritual Emergence Network for some years. As a lifestyle and business mentor, human development and soul path teacher, and rite of passage facilitator I have integrated the use of shamanic practices with energetic healing, and Jungian / transpersonal psychology over the past 30 years. During that time I developed an accredited diploma in holistic counselling, and diplomas in life & work coaching, and in shamanic healing & soul care. As Head of Faculty for Life Studies these courses led to the Award of the Peace Flame to that college by the World Peace Flame Foundation.

I am thankful to those who choose to engage in our Soul Resonance work. As this work matures and expands into increasing relevance to our times I appreciate the way the threads of my own life have come together as a soul expression to help create this wonderful emerging field. This includes my past studies and previous professional work in roles as a psychotherapist, psychologist, ecologist, adult educator, mentor, and the developer and provider of courses.

I would like to express my gratitude here to my own personal teachers, healers and guides over the years. Particular thanks goes out to those who have helped me to navigate and integrate the deep and broad dimensions of my own inner space. These caring individuals have come from such diverse areas as zen, crazy wisdom, somatic, Jungian, shamanic, existential, soul-centered, and integral healing traditions and fields.  Finally, gratitude and respect always to the pioneers on whose ground this continuing work, as part of the perennial wisdom and Great Work, stands.

STEPHANIE

Creating and being present with life for me, is a humbling process of self-realisation and transformation. I am sometimes surprised by what is revealed to me. I liken Soul Resonance to the mandala of life that takes me on a journey of discovery, often into the unknown to places within that I have neglected to acknowledge or to places where I have left disparate parts of myself that are awaiting my retrieval and integration. I am continually reminded of my uniqueness and interconnectedness with all around me.

For me the cycle that is life often parallels the soul process, weaving through the intricate and often challenging landscape of human existence, revealing, transmuting, evolving and ascending towards a further enlightened state of being amidst that which would otherwise hold our souls captive.

My background includes studies in conservation with a primary focus on social ecology. I have worked for non-profit community based organisations. I am a qualified counsellor and meditation teacher with training in transpersonal art therapy. However, it is the real soul depth of my early life, particularly my magical time with nature, that has been the most formative for this work of Soul Resonance…

Mother Earth has been my sanctuary since small. I recall many a fabulous tea party with Raggedy Ann, Kinta Alice and clan, along with the ever-growing menagerie of furry and feathered companions who would join us for frolic and fun, under my favourite pepper tree. It was under her, my pepper tree, that I felt a sense of belonging and enchantment, my magical land in nature. Supported by her stout thickly barked trunk, nurtured by her expansive branches, I was perfectly hidden from the eyes of prying parents beneath her beautiful leafy drapery, decadently peppered with ruby beads.

Although now big, having replaced my wonderful calico, plastic and what adults referred to as ‘invisible’ friends, for those with a more human-like disposition. With exception, I must clarify that I would never replace the furry or feathered nor the elemental ones for that matter, but shh, for I must not let too many know of my secret friendship circle and what we share within. What I can tell you is that I no longer drink magical tea from the teapot that never runs dry, preferring homemade cacao and almond milk instead.

What has not altered for me in my life thus far is my strong connection to Mother Earth. Her communication with me is symbolic in nature, through her rhythms and cycles of birth, death and rebirth and the many stages in between, I draw from her sustenance, inspiration and creativity. Her mystical ever-changing facets of beauty remind me that in her likeness, we all have access to this richness inside ourselves. My heart also breaks along side her as I see and feel so deeply the harm that is upon her and all her kin. As the misguided tyranny of the unconscious threatens to break the banks of all that is known as sacred, I sit strong in my little wooden canoe with my man by my side and flow where the river takes me, through rapids or through still. I hold tight in who I am, where I came from and why I am here, and there I stay. My little canoe and I hold stead and I will go where I need to go.

Paul and I incubated and birthed Soul Resonance from the sanctuary of our mountaintop mud brick hobbit cabin in the forest. Much we toiled, laughed, agonised, framed, reframed and genuinely committed all that we could possibly give to what has become the beginning of Soul Resonance. We also let go, for Soul Resonance, like the Earth, will grow and evolve and shed and reshape. Soul Resonance is a living being, having her own life, breadth and gifts she wishes to bestow.

Our shared Soul Resonance journey has a foundation of vegan raw and superfood rich living. Being vegan is at the core of our life values. We are also very, very passionate when it comes to eating raw cacao brownies. We may have accidentally eaten a few trays while bringing to form what we thought would be near impossible for words to convey.
